New Medical Centre
We have moved into our New Medical Centre on Monday 14 December 2015. It is very exciting for us as well as for our patients.
The Medical Centre has a separate building for physiotherapy and pharmacy .
A dental clinic on the north boundary is open for patients.
Shingles Vaccine funded for people over 65 , from 1st April
If you have chicken pox at some stage of your life, then you are carrying the virus which can re-emerge later in life and causes Shingles.
Shingles appears as painful blisters on the body or over the eye and forehead. In some cases, it can cause severe chronic pain after the blisters heal and can threat the eyesight. The risk of getting Shingles increases sharply over the age of 50 with a 1 in 3 lifetime risk.
A new Shingles vaccine has recently become available in New Zealand and has shown to be effective in preventing Shingles.
From first of April 21018, the vaccine will be fully funded for over 65's and is available at Pegasus Medical Centre.
If you have any questions about the vaccine, please ask you doctor or the nurses.
